Last week there was the visit of Fisu and Epic to Aru for a series of meetings and inspections in some event’s venues.
The visit, scheduled in November during the debriefing with Taipei Organising Committee, has been made the stock of situation on many important topics like Athletes Village, transportation, venues and more.
The delegations, together with Aru, have visited some locations picked to host athletes, umpires and media like Mostra d’Oltremare headquarter. Other visits have been made in Avellino and Caserta and, above all, in Stazione Marittima where was held a meeting with Napoli City Council, law enforcement, Terminal Napoli and Regione Campania Transport Service.
“Hosting the Athletes Village in “Stazione Marittima”, could be a very particular and original solution but there will be to make changese. – declare Alan Shaw,CEO of Epic – We would need to separate the athletes from the tourists, create some limited traffic zones and all the areas will have to be open 24h during all the event. We have to work a lot on this topic that could be possible just with the cooperation of all the stakeholders involved in the Summer Universiade”.
The next visit of Fisu is already scheduled for next January 30th and 31st, when a delegation of Executive Committee will arrive in Naples.
